The hotel is charmingly decorated in a retro style combined with modern hotel facilities. It has been carefully renovated with great respect for the soul of the place - all the way back from its early beginnings in the 1890s with beautiful, stately decorated furniture and doors, 40s (then) modern facilities, including the telephone box on the 1st floor, which has been preserved, as well as the characteristic elevator, which was installed in the 70s and is still in use today.
In several places, the style is spiced with a 70s retro feel with brown and warm interior elements - something you particularly experience in the reception, the hotel lounge and breakfast restaurant.

Our location provides direct access to Esbjerg city center and a strategic location when the team needs to gather in western Jutland.
Facilities
As Hotel Ansgar is a bed and breakfast hotel, the hotel does not have a restaurant that can be used. However, we have agreements with local restaurateurs within walking distance of the hotel, where you can satisfy your hunger.
We of course still offer catering in connection with your meetings.
There is a parking lot with charging stations at the hotel. Inside the hotel we offer a cozy lounge, where there is always coffee on the pot. Between 17 and 18 p.m. we even offer a glass of wine and some nuts - the first glass is free for overnight guests.
The lounge area has plenty of space for relaxation and cozy moments – maybe even a game of board games – perfect as a little break from the meeting.

Sustainability
At Hotel Ansgar we are Green Key certified and therefore make an active effort every day to protect the environment. We would like to offer some suggestions on how you as a guest can help protect the environment:
- Take public transport: As the hotel is located in the centre of Esbjerg, you will find bus stops just a 1–2 minute walk away. Esbjerg's train and bus station is only 600 metres from the hotel – approximately a 7–8 minute walk.
- Leave the pens lying and the rest of the paper block so we can use it again
