Hotel Ansgar
Esbjerg's oldest hotel is located in the heart of the city - just a few steps from the charming pedestrian street, which is one of Denmark's longest. Here you will find a wealth of shopping opportunities, and the city also offers exciting museums, the harbor area and the Music Hall.
Hotel Ansgar offers 95 newly renovated rooms, all with flat screen TV, coffee and tea, free wireless internet and private bathroom and toilet. As a garni hotel, we do not have an à la carte restaurant, but we do have cooperation agreements with several local eateries within walking distance, where you can enjoy a good dinner.
There is also the opportunity to pack a packed lunch for the day's adventures and relax in our cozy lounge with flat screen, newspapers and games. Between 17 and 18 pm we offer a glass of wine and some nuts - and the first glass is free for overnight guests.
Excursion destination
The Fisheries and Maritime Museum is one of Denmark's most visited attractions. Here you can experience seal feeding and gain an insight into life on an oil rig. Close to the museum, down towards the beach, stands Svend Wiig Hansen's iconic sculpture group The man by the sea – Esbjerg's landmark. The nine-meter-tall, white figures look out over the entrance and towards the island of Fanø.
The ferry to Fanø is also not far from the hotel, and both nature experiences and a genuine island atmosphere await you here. Esbjerg also has its own airport, and the Danish Swimming Stadium offers activities for both children and adults all year round. For those interested in art, Esbjerg Museum offers exciting changing and permanent exhibitions that provide an enriching cultural experience.
