Photo spot - Søren Jessens Sand

Distance: 6.96 Km

Søren Jessens Sand, Fanø

Take your camera on a hike along the endless rows of sand dunes on the northernmost part of Fanø's wide sandy beach on the west coast.

Here, the beach is more than 1 km wide and looks like a sandy desert. You can really feel the forces of nature that shape the dune landscape and the beach in an absolutely spectacular way. An impressive dynamic, where the wind transports large amounts of sand back and forth. It is a great experience to see the sandblasting, which looks like an undulating carpet of sand. This can also look absolutely amazing caught on camera.

With the drone, you can take off at Badesti 1, and get some beautiful pictures of the dune landscape with Grådyb in the background. Grådyb is the channel into Esbjerg Harbour. The fairway runs so close to the coast that it almost looks like the ships are sailing in the sand. Close to the dune ridge on the eastern side of Søren Jessen's sand has the more character of a salt meadow, where you can also get some impressive pictures from the air. Please note that it is not permitted to fly a drone on the entire beach, due to the natural area.

Parking can be done at Fanø Bad, after which you can walk out the long path along the inner row of dunes to Søren Jessens Sand, where the bathing paths take you through the salt marsh to the coast.
