Dyrehaven in Nørreskoven - forest area with deer

Distance: 3.23 Km

Dyrehaven in Nørreskoven is a lovely oasis not far from Esbjerg city center. Here you can experience deer up close.

You will find Dyrehaven on the edge of Nørreskoven, a breathing hole with both forest and meadow. In the area, it is possible to see red deer, fallow deer and sika deer.

Good advice for a visit to Dyrehaven
Read the information at the main entrance and at the zoo doors.
Keep three meters away from the animals.
The animals must not eat by hand. Throw fruit and vegetables on the ground.
Pay special attention from September to the end of November. Here the animals are in heat and therefore extra sensitive.

When you want to feed the animals, the food must be thrown at least three meters away from where you are standing. The animals should not be invited to take the food from their hands. If you want to feed the animals, it must be fruit or vegetables, because bread and spaghetti cannot be digested in the animals' stomachs. And then there is just that with the bag. The sound of bags is similar to food for the animals, so visitors should be aware from the moment the bag is found.

Amorines in the air
Late summer equals mating time, also called brown. The males are busy marking each other and the females. Until the end of November, it will affect the mood of the zoo and the animals will react differently than they normally will. It also means that they do not relate to the human visitors as they usually do. When animals and humans go wrong, unfortunate situations can occur.

Parking
Parking space directly opposite Spangsbjerg Hospital.
