Mosedalsbjerg on Fanø

Distance: 6.46 Km

This "mountain area" is one of the most beautiful and distinctive on Fanø. Here is a larger crew bunker from World War II.

The area formed the southernmost point of the Atlantvolden on Fanø. 4 pieces of 12,2 cm guns were set up south of Sønderho Strandvej. From the top there is a nice view of most of the southern part of the island.

Here is also the place "By the Gallows", where in its time a gallows was placed for fear and warning for beach robbers. The damp beach meadow just west of, is called Galgedalen.

Galgerev and Galgedyb to the southwest are home to the largest population of seals on Fanø. At low tide you can walk 1,7 km out into the mudflats to Galgerevet. Both gray seals and harbor seals lie on the sandbank and sunbathe.
